I won a Hunter 270 in a drawing. Years ago my wife and I owned a Hunter 25. The boat is just starting production at the factory. I can add options. I am looking for suggestions. The boat will be used inland. Day/weekend lake sailing. What kinds of options are good from the factory? What kinds of options would be better as aftermarket? Any help is appreciated.

Wow! Great Luck

Rex, I have a H260 and there is not much difference between them, Keel vs waterballast, else the same boat. Options: roller furler wheel steering 4 stroke engine Pop top for companionway bimini fabric cushions for down below cockpit cushions knot and depth meters depending on lake pumpout availability get enclosed marine head, spouse likes this feature. One thing I'm going to add this year is a electric pump for the galley sink, my wife does not like the hand pump. Hows That.... Happy Sailing Jim S/V Java stern rail seats

Dont forget to pay the tax

I own a 450,99 with all the toys, but the furling mast &power winch made a sailor out of me. And I agree with all that the guy under me said.

Thanks Jim

My understanding is that wheel steering is standard on 270, and this boat does have the inboard. Great suggestions. Thank You. What is the difference between roller furling and "Jiffy furling"? This is a bit difficult as I do not have the advantage of working through a dealer, as the promotions company has ordered the boat directly from the factory, and Hunter Marine has been little help with options questions (I guess they figure in a normal purchase, the new owner can get all this info from the dealer. When you suggest knot and depth meters, are you happy with the Hunter supplied units? what are the Hunter supplied units? Again, thanks

More goodie

Sorry Rex, forgot that model was inboard and wheel steering. They install Autohelm electronics and one thing you might consider is getting a Pedestal Guard with a Edson model 1202-45x95 Instrument housing. This will hold two different instruments, one being the depth and knot guage. Mine was installed on the bulkhead starboard side and my wife is forever sitting in front of it when we are running shalow. I'm in the planning stage of doing this when I install the autopilot. Jiffy vs Roller - I hope they are the same thing. Hunter typical uses CDI FF4 for the jib rolling furl on this size boat. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong, doing this from memory) Jim S/V Java
