I just missed the opening of the Centerville Bridge last night before the afternoon closure so had to wait for an hour and a half. The clearance under the bridge looked barely sufficient for a small outboard so I figured it was safe to anchor in the channel. I was down below when I heard a loud amplified voice yelling, "Look out, look out, SAILBOAT!"
I went up to see this rowing shell go by:
This is on their return. The strokes got a bit sloppy after the coxwain said, "Hey girls, smile, he's taking our picture."
Two other shells had to be diverted by the coach as well. Who would have thought to encounter these in the ICW?
