Netural position on the Yanmar KM2P-1 transmission.

I have a 1974 Ta Chiao CT35. The Km2-1 transmission lever is horizon in the neutral position. I need it in the vertical position. Can I change it by loosening the nut and just moving it?

Depending make of the single lever control, it should be possible. I've the Whitlock ones and can be set at any angle to suit by undoing the nut, pull out the lever and place at angle I want.

I think he meant the lever on the transmission. That should be splined onto the shaft, so yes, remove the nut or however it's fastened, pull the lever off the shaft and reposition however you like.
