I have a Hunter 78-30,records indicate 5 ton net and 6 tons gross, leaving ,one ton for "loading"??? Question...What does the one ton NOT include..... full water tank, fuel tank?? Sail inventory?? One anchor,chain/rope rode????? and what do Hunter owners consider overloading on this boat? My wife and I intend to do some extended sailing so you can see where this is an important question for us. Thanks... Bob and Lynda Haskell

The following will either answer your question or

confuse you even further: Tonnage has nothing to do with the weight of your boat. It is a measure of how much wine you can carry. The word 'tun' was originally a size of a cask used to ship wine from Spain
