Negative ground bar

I am going to redo the battery set-up on my 2006 Hunter 36. I want to put in a separate starting battery. The negative battery cable that comes off the batteries is 0 gauge wire and dives into the stringers below. The cable to the starter and back of the electrical distribution panel is 4 gauge. So that means there is a ground bus bar somewhere in the boat that splits the battery lead into two paths. I cannot find that bus bar. Does anyone know where it is located.

Bus Bar

Try looking under the nav station, there is a wood
panel just under the battery switch with two screws
holding it on,just remove that panel and you will
see the main bus bar with all the yellow cables.
I also added a start battery and made one big house
bank with the two 4-d's on my 2007 36.

Negative ("Ground") wire/buss...

Typically the negative wire run from the battery is lead to a bolt on the engine block. Any negative side of the circuit buss bar is usually wired off of that connection.

Nice,, but mine is not there

Thanks Nick.. I did look there and didn't see it. So I called Hunter. They say it is under the floor in my large cabinet under the nav station. I don't have a freezer there. I haven't been to the boat yet to check that out. I am planning on doing what you did. Where did you put the starting battery and how did you wire it up.
