I thought I could check in http://shop.hunterowners.com/, but my browser just sits blank. I tried chrome and internet explorer.
Does anybody know if there's a system problem that somebody's fixing?
What advice do you have for inexpensive used jibs?
I have a 1976 Hunter 27, bought used 2010, the jib that came with it has visited the sailmender twice already because it hung up on the spreader and ripped. I'm guessing that any more patches will only invite more places to snag, and although the sailmaker charges only about $20 for each mend I'm sure repetitive snags and rips will only result in having a jib that's more patch than sail, plus the current trip gets ruined and the boat's unusable for the couple of days the jib gets sewn.
Measurements are foot 16' 4" leech? 30' 6" luff? front 32' 3", taped for a roller furler.
Sorry, I'm a little unsure which is leech and which is luff. I think the 32' 3" measurement was the edge that goes into the furler, but as I type this I doubt myself, and need to wait till I get the repaired sail back.
