Need to take forestay off B&R, loosen backstay 1st

I need to remove the forestay just to slide a furling drum on, should I loosen the backstay up a bit first? Or just loosen the forestay? I hate to mess up the rig tuning, this is the most balanced boat I have ever had. Thanks

I was going to use the jib halyard to the cleat

but I guess I left that out. Thanks for your response though.
