Well it has come to this. The head is 5 years old, time to replace anyway. The hose is permeated. The tank has a small leak near the top. Only leaks when it is full or we heal, and we heal alot, just ask my wife oh yeah and the smell. So I need to start all over. Rhode Island is a no discharge zone and we only have one head. Given an unlimited budget, which I don't have, what should we do and why? Hope everyone had a nice thanksgiving. Russell S/V Allie Kat

Buy a new toilet, tank and hose :)

But I think you've already figured out that much. :) Toilet: Manual: Raritan PH II, Cricket or Compact II...If you're ready to move up to electric: Raritan SeaEra. Raritan is mid-price, but always top rated. Hose: SeaLand "OdorSafe" brand. Expensive at $8/ft, but truly "bulletproof"...so you'll only have to spend it once instead of every 3-5 years. Tank: Ronco Plastics (link below)...top quality thick-walled tanks, more than 400 shapes and sizes to choose from, VERY reasonable prices.

It's hard to believe your whole system collapsed after only 5 years. One would have to conclude that either it wasn't installed properly or maintained properly. Follow Peggie's advice to the letter and I'm sure this can get squared away.
