I need to remove the skeg in front of the rudder. Has any one done this? Do I have to drop the rudder? Or can it be remove with out doing that?

Sometimes....

...a picture is worth a thousand words. What boat your talking about wouldn't hurt either.

Easy to do

If your 30' is like my 33' and it looks like it is. The skeg is held on by two bolts (1/4" I think). Just crawl in the stearn and remove the nuts. I may take a deep socket or open end wrench. The skeg should then drop out. No need to remove the rudder. Good luck.
