My water heater is leaking and I need to pull it out and open it up to find the problem. But I cannot figure out how to disconnect the water connections. The water lines are all plastic with these plastic connectors. At the connection one part of the connector will turn, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Is there a special trick or is a special tool required to pull off these water lines. Any ideas?

Still under waranty Ken?

Seems you got your boat only about 1 year ago. Isn't the waranty 1 year on everything?

No Mark it is 2 years old.

It is also my feeling that the water take crack due to freezing. While I did winterize, if this is why then it would not be covered anyway. I have tracked down the type of fittings. The are Whale Water Systems, and they are suppose to be quick connect and dissconnect, I just have to figure out how. As we speak I am downloading a document with hopefully will tell my how. But I figured that someone must have have done this before and would have a quick answer. Thanks,

Found the solution to my connector problem

The connectors are just like the paper Chinese handcuff's we played with as kids. You know the one's you put on one finger on one hand and another finger on the other hand. The harder you pull apart the tighter they get, but if you push them together, they come right off. Well, these fittings are the same. If you push the inside flange in, and pull on the hose they come right apart. This only took me about 5 hours to figure out. Pulled the water heater out, opened it up and the weld around 75% of the tank had split apart, I assume from poor winterizing on my part. So now I have to go out and spend $300, on a replacement. What a way to spend a rainy Sunday.
