'84 H31 Planning to get my mast back on this week, and wondering where to find the tuning specs. The marina has a Loos gauge, but I'm sure they don't have the specs for my boat. Any help appreciated......Gary

I used the numbers

I used the procedure in the owners manual for tuning a B & R rig. And used the numbers from the instructions that come with the Loos gage. They are based on the diameter of the stays.

Thanks Jim...

I didn't know that the diameter of the shrouds determined the number.

Not only don't they..

...tell you tuning specs. They also can't help with rake. When I setup my mast on the 34,(same rig just larger), the first thing you do is assemble the mast and diagonals on the ground. This puts about 6" of prebend into the mast. Then the mast is lowered onto the boat. Use about 1/2 the turnbuckle on the headstay to set rake, then set up the mast athwartships. Final fine tuning is done under way in 10 to 15 knots.

Do you have a manual
