Need some help on Hunter 22 vs Hunter 23

I have a 1982 22' Hunter. The cushions are missing and I need to make some templates for new cushions. The boat is not near me, but the local sailing club has several 85-86' model Hunter 23's. Are the interiors dimensionally the same on these boat as mine?
I was going to email hunter but you have to enter the Hull ID number to be able to submit an email. I don't have that with me either.

Hi drumbeater,

No, the interiors are not the same and boats of that vintage may even vary a bit from boat to boat. I don't know if Hunter will have data for a 1982 model, so your best bet is making templates from your interior. From there you can use any upholstery shop to make the cushions.

Ok, thanks Phil. I made up a Hull ID number "donthaveit" and submitted the question to Hunter, but that's what I expected. I may have to wait like you suggest. I think there is an 83' 22 up there, but sure don't want there to be a 1" difference and have to remake everything.

Different animals.. not only different LWL/LOA, but narrower beam and a slightly different cabin layout as well. Try contacting US Yacht Cushions down in St. Pete. They were the OEM for Hunter from '85 to '92, specialize in Hunter cushions, and claim to have the patterns for most all models Hunter produced (some factory provided, others taken from cushions submitted by owners). If they can't help, they could probably point you in the right direction. No web site, but their e-mail is USYC@aol.com

U.S. Yacht cushions did not have the templates and suggested I make some and look for someone local to do the cushions.

I don't suppose you could develop the sizes from a drawing. Here is the H22 manual: http://hunter.sailboatowners.com/images/kb/pdf/783.pdf . Can you scale the drawing and come up with the cushion sizes?

I have 81 h22 and am pretty sure it is identical. I will try to get the measurements for you, but boat is in yard and won't be till late this month if that's ok. To remind me, send me an email through the board.

Ps the hard part is the two cushions just fore of the keel trunk, which have hard bottoms and interlock to form a sleeping platform.
