Does anyone have a rudder and post available? I bent the post and need to replace soon. The winds are finally picking up on the lake and we need to get sailing. By the way, getting the rudder and post removed in the wet is an easy task. Just remove the tiller and the nylon ring (mine was broken in half). The post slides down the tube and (if you are lucky) it floats out from the bottom. I tied a line to the rudder to be sure it didn't scurry off.

advice

while I don't have a rudder for you, the trick is putting the new one back in place because it does float :) When mine broke off while at sea a few years ago, I had a weld shop fix it (possibility for you) and when trying to install the rudder, I didn't have enough [umph] to keep it down there and align the holes.. So I took the rudder back to the shop and had them weld a bolt of something stainless inside the tube at the top.. this way I could tie a rope to it and thread it through the tube in the boat.. See where I'm going with this? 2 person job, 2 minutes and your done Cheers :)

Thanks Jim

I will certainly use your suggestion if I can find another rudder.
