2-4hp, clamp to transom
I'd suggest a 2-4 hp outboard, or use an electric outboard if you will not need to power against strong wind or current. You shouldn't need any accessaries to mount the motor other than a plywood pad to protect the fiberglass from the clamp screws. The Javelin was built to clamp a motor directly to the transom, a short-shaft will work, but a long-shaft is better.Remember that USCG Reglulations require that all boats with motors be registered in the State of principle use, and that many States have certain extra equipment required on boats with motors (anchor, line, paddle, bailer, horn or whistle, etc.) most are common-sense anyway.
