The bracket my right rear lift post has become deformed and looks as though it may break at some point. Does anyone have a spare one of these laying around, know where I may get one, or know how to repair the one I have? It does not appear that this would be easy to remove.

Also, has anyone ever replaced the original pop top winch with something newer and safer? The lock on mine does not work well so it takes 2 people to lift the top. This is usually not a problem but could be as one of my helpers is 6.

The latch on my winch doesn't work at all anymore. I just use one person to lift the top. I crank it up until I can slip the pins in the front posts and then walk to the back, lift the top a little and slip the rear pins in.

I don't know how I would be able to replace that winch. I've been thinking of disssembling it to see if it could be repaired.

That winch looks huge! My winch still ratchets pretty well, but I certainly don't trust it. The posts are just bent channel, you should be able to make it or have it fabbed. I don't see anything special about it. How did it get damaged?

Not sure. It was that way when I bought it. I would think that it was in a bind some how and the owner continued to crank on it. It seems to work OK but looks as though it could fail at some point. It does not look that easy to remove (without removing the top), any suggestions?

The top isn't hard to take off, two men can lift it off. But, yes I agree, the top will have to come off for the repair. How is it damaged? Where is it bent, I can't imagine that happening...
