We must have the original furling system from 1976 - we want to upgrade to something furls and reefs. We think it will require 3 types of costs - the furling, the sales, and boatyard fees to install it - we are poor mechanics at best. any ideas?

Best unit on the market is available on the site.

Tom: One of the best and least expensive units on the market is available right here on the website. Check in the store. The unit is from Spin-tec. Nothing easier to install either. If you already have a furler, you will be able to use your old sail unit you have money for the new one. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Coulda had a Spin-tec for much less.

Tom: You could of purchased a Spin-Tec unit for about $1400-1500. I'll be interested in seeing how long it takes to install. Spin-tec units can be installed in about 1-1.5 hrs. Nothing wrong with a Harken except the price and complexity.
