Dear friends, I own a 1983 hunter 27 which presently sits on the hard in Charleston city boatyard. What luck that it came out of the water last week for seacock replacements while Arthur blew by. I'd like to install a bimini top while she's there, but the custom bimini makers need dimensions. I like the Bimini top that bolts to the rear rails. My problem is, I'm prestently at my home in Florida and won't be able to measure it for another week or ten days. I'd very much like to order it now and have it arrive while i'm working on it. So my request to you kind folks is to please give me the measurements from one of your boats so I can place the order. Padetorejr - Did you ever order a Bimini? If so did you get it from the SBO store? I am looking at some and wondered if they did yours and if you were happy with it?

Hi Mike. Actually I ordered a generic Bimini top and cut up the frame to make it fit. Then installed the material which also needed quite a bit of customizing. (Cutting and stitching and duck tape). It met my immediate needs as I was moving the boat through the low country in the heat of summer. I then used the cloth as a pattern and made a real beauty of a Bimini using large zippers and double layered sunbrella.
Most good canvas makers insist on measuring the individual boat. Even on two indentical models, things are different. Winch location, track location, antenna mounted on the stern pulpit, all add up for potential problems.
