Need Mast 22' - 1981

I had the rare accident of losing my mast while sailing my 1981 Hunter 22 this past summer and I'm looking for a replacement. I'd rather not have a new one made. I've seen used masts, but most are longer than needed. Is it a difficult process to take a longer mast and contour it?
