I need to know the measurment between lift points ( front and rear ) on a 79' H-30 shoal draft. Setting a lift rack up at the house to do some painting and maintenance this winter and just have an old picture of it in the slings to go by. Unfortunatley it was not a side shot, so it is minimal help. My best guess is about 10' between slings, but would appreciate the true lift points if someone has them. The boat has been painted before so any factory markings are gone. Thanks in advance for any responses. Ross B.

Just before and after the keel

If you look at the boat from the side, there are only a few placed to put the lifting straps. The forward one goes right in front of and maybe just touching the foward edge of the keel. Any further forward and you run the risk of having the strap slip. The aft strap has to go just aft of the keel and somewhat forward of the shaft log. That would place it just forward of the primary winches. Once out of the water, the jackstands are placed outside of the bulkheads.

Strap locations

Any good marina will tie a strap or rope between the slings before they lift a boat. This will prevent the straps from sliding out from under the boat. R.Bounds and Velero are right though, right in front of the keel and right behind the keel, but in front of the prop shaft. The scarriest part is to watch your boat hang in the slings.
