love my Hunter, but considering a Jeanneau. Is it a better built sailing vessel? Does it sail better? Overpriced? Not much better than a Catalina or Hunter? Any opinion welcomed. thank you abe

A good way to check up on them is by finding one to charter. One was available in Key West, and I am sure there are others elsewhere. I have no experience on Js, but know that on the west coast there are not many of them around, relative to Hunters and Catalinas. Sometimes that translates into less available support. But what I've heard generally is that they build a decent production boat. But not a super-high quality boat. Surely some owner out there will check in. Or try Google for an owner's group. It'll be interesting to hear from those with experience. S.

i did lots of research before i bought my boat and not one single source had anything negative to say about catalina. i bought a catalina. since then, nobody, including satisfied owner me, has had anything negative to say about catalina. if ever there was a no-brainer.....
