Need help with SSB/Pactor modem

My sailing buddy has SSB on his boat. Has had it and used it for years. He recently added a Pactor modem for email and weather-fax and is having a real problem getting everything to work. He is looking for someone with a similar setup that could answer some questions. The Pactor support folks don't seem to be able to assist him. Jimmy, His setup will depend on whether he is using Sailmail or Airmail or even something else to receive weatherfax. A free program live JVcom32 will work with the Pactor for just weather but each is different. Here is a primer for Airmail. We also have a SSB and Ham Social Group and Forum. You have to join the social group to post on the forum.

I have the Pactor tied to an ICOM M802. I'll send an email, and perhaps we can help out.

jaj63207, it would also have been helpful to list the equipment your friend was using, besides the PACTOR. Just throwing this out simply because someone could already have the same suite of equipment and probably had a solution already.

Just a thought. Good luck with your friend's issues.
