Paul, The HunterOwners.com website has an option along the top menu called Resources. Below that is a choice called Reference Library. If you go to that you'll see there are other links to usefull items, one of which is the online manual for the 260. The attached link goes directly to the page on that online manual that shows the sail plan and identifies where those dimensions apply. Hope that explains it. Mike

Need H26 info
First, the really stupid question; How do I post a new thread? I couldn't figure it out on the forums page. Second, I just got home yesterday with my "new" 1996 H26. Towed it up to BC from Oregon. The previous owner left the hatch open for the bit of rain we've been having here. We bailed her out, but when I opened the small round plastic cover just forward of the rear bunk, next to the companion steps, there was water in the hole. I got most of it out with a sponge, but I would like to really dry her out. Is that part of the bilge connected to the rear (under the bunk) bilge? What's under there? is it a space between the hull and cabin sole? Is there another access point? Thanks for any information, or advice you-all have for a new H26 owner. I have owned a few other boats, so I understand general boat basics.

...at the rear berth or the cabin sole? In any event I believe you are looking at the top of the ballast tank and it will be a real bear to dry it out, depending on weather, months. Water can pool on top of the tank. I am not sure if those inspection plates (hatches) were from the factory or owner installed to check for water on top of the tank which can come from many places. There is a connection (very shallow) from the tank top to the bilge which is really only under the rear berth. Water can travel from the tank top to the bilge, under the galley and head sinks and under the settees. alan

Ballast Tank is open to bilge???
The opening (pry open kind with a small round cover with O ring seal)is in the cabin sole where you would step on it on the way to the rear berth. Are you saying that the ballast tank is open to the rear bilge and under the sink and settees? If that is the case, how come the water doesn't come in? Or does it? Maybe that's why the sole was damp ;-) I thought the small rubber plug next to the tank opening handle (under the bottom step) was to let air in so the water can get out as you pull out of the water. If the tank is open to the bilge.....?

Sorry, I just reread your post and I see it's the tank TOP that is connected to the bilge. That makes more sense. I think a wet and dry shop vac might be the way to get it dry, under sink, settees, through that small hole. I'm still trying to figure out how to post a new subject. Any advice?
