Every hatch had one of these over the nut. No, not me, the hatch nut... However, when we acquired the boat a few weeks ago, most were missing and now one of the few remaining ones, broke. They appear to have an opening of 3/8". Does anyone know where I can order these? Any and all help would be appreciated! Thanks

Did the nut sit recessed in those knobs or are they threaded? Either way, they look like they might be pretty easy to replace. Do you know the size and thread pitch of the bolt they go on? I just happened to be looking at my latest Rockler woodworking catalog, and ran across these 5-star knobs that come in a couple different threaded insert sizes. I've seen them at other places as well, like over at Grainger, but for all of them you need to determine the size of the bolt you are dealing with.

Cheers,
Brad

I scavenged the remaining matching nuts and placed them in the salon, I then went to lowe's and obtained a soft rubber (with brass captive nut embedded) and installed those in the aft cabin. They are fairly easy on the fingers. Note, my boat had two different diameter threaded pieces.

Bomar has them and I believe the chandlery here in Hunter Owners have them as well.

Half of mine were either stripped or cracked. I forget exactly what size they are, but I went to home depot and bought wing nuts. If memory serves they didn't have stainless so i bought the zinc nuts. I was able to move all the good original plastic nuts to the main cabin ports, and I used the zinc wing nuts in the head and v-berth. The zinc is holding up just fine. Oh yeah, they were very inexpensive also.
If you go this route just bring one of the good nuts to Home Depot and they can match it up for you.
