I cannot find the differences between the 70, 700 and 7000 series of Garmin GPSMap plotter/sounders.
It seems that the biggest thing between the 70 and 700 is that the 700 can be the display for radar. I am not sure what is added to the 7000 series. Any help would be appreciated.
Some come with the worldwide base map and others have the Bluechart G3 maps. What does the base map have and is the G3 needed?

Sorry, I should have said 7x, 7xx & 7xxx because they seem to a a bunch of combinations if numbers after the seven but they appear to differenciate between the 7x series (which cannot interface with radar I think.) and the 7xx series (which can interface with radar I think.) and the 7xxx series (which I cannot tell is dissident from the others.)

I found the following video on 7xxx series. It seems to have a lot more input and output connections than the 7xx series. The 7xxx series seems to be the flagship so likely has everything!! The 7xxx series seems to have been replaced by 8xxx series.
Might be best to visit a dealer as they could help you get the right gear for your needs.

This vidio indicates that the 7000 series is only for 10" & 12" but I found 4 different 7" models with a 7xxx number/. One of the units I am looking at is the GPSMAP 7607xsv.

How wide of an angle can the Garmin screens be viewed from? When sitting in my perch on the side deck combing, I want to be able to see the unit mounted on the pedestal pod, but that would be an 70º - 80º to the face.

Anyone know what the difference is between the three types of transduces? (CHIRP, SideVu & ClearVu)
