I am thinking that whem I get the low down on the controller I am seriously considering the cables as well. One of the brass thread on fittings is badly worn also.
We have a Morse Teleflex MV-2. Short is that the middle gear broke off the shifter. We repairef it temp by tapping screws and forming gear with JB weld epoxy.
In searching the mv-2 is not commercially available, phased out. We are hearing (Ben S on the HOW is helping us to find a solution. The factory tells him the MV-3 is the replacement. The data sheet online fir the mv-3 states 'only for horizontal install. Our would require vertical install. Not sure what the issue to be. Although, I will add thid shifter has been tight and awkward past the first year or so.
We are in the Bahamas and info research is limited. This is as far as we've gotten. Ben S is currently following up with the factory on all of this. I am afraid he might get discouraged. The back and forth has been diffucult and he has put lots of time into this. If you are not familiar with the installation scenario, I can send you a pic but I would need an email address to send it.
