1979 Hunter Cherubini 30 Clemmons
I posted this in another thread but thought I would post it as a topic in the Cherubini forum. I am about to order a set of shrouds from Rigging Only and found out my existing lowers have eyes for 1/2" pins but my lower mast tangs have 3/8" pins! I need to know which one is correct. I am hoping the tangs are correct at 3/8" since new ones are pretty pricey. All the uppers have 1/2" pins on top and 3/8" pins on the bottom. I am thinking the lowers shrouds were not made correctly.....I hope ;)

I wonder if Seco South might have an answer? They made all the rigging for our Cherubinis. I bought all new wire including lifelines from them. For my lowers I had them install the top swaged forks and I installed the bottom terminals(studs) in case I ever wanted to change them out. I used Sta-Loks.

I sent Seco a drawing of what I needed for quoting purposes 3 days ago but have not heard back yet. I got a quote from Rigging Only and I asked if they could check their database for previous H30c's to see what pins were used on the lowers. They said they don't keep that information due to the possibility of having problems if the information was wrong. I can see their point. I reck'n you don't still have an itemized receipt from Seco showing the lower eye pin fitting size? :) Btw, I priced out doing it myself using sta-loks and Rigging Only was $250 cheaper than Seco. Just a heads up to others.

Interesting because I found just the opposite price wise. Call Jean at 727-536-1924.
My H37C is going to be a lot different in cost. And I am not at home.

Interestingly the Hunter 25 I am rebuilding also has different size fittings on top than bottom. Mine are 5/16 pins and eyes on top and 1/4 pins and turnbuckles on bottom, all on 5/32 wire. We must be seeing some type of Hunter trend.

I sent a pdf drawing to Jean of the shrouds I need made up. They were indeed the cheapest as far as swaged fittings. I just need to find new lower 1/2" shroud tangs that will replace the incorrect 3/8" ones the PO put on. I am hoping Seco has the 1/2" Kenyon dog bone tangs in stock. I can't order until I know what the new tangs lengths will be. I am hoping Seco has my tangs a bit cheaper than Rig-Rite wants.
