Harken
I made this decision about 2 years ago for my '79 33. I researched this question to death and came up with few really concrete differences among the major manufacturers. All seemed to be reliable and easy to use and maintain. While I rejected CDI fairly early in the process, there are a lot of supporters out there. As one sail loft I turned to for advice put it, it really comes down to a matter of appearance - do you want a black drum (Harken), silver drum (I think that was Hood) or a gray drum (Schaeffer?) occupying your foredeck?I ultimately went with the Harken and have been extremely pleased. I did, however, have the furler installed by North Sails in Manasquan, NJ. If I were going to install it myself, I'm not sure I would have selected Harken.Tom FitzGibbonPlan B
