...for 1985 Hunter 31'. I lost (overboard) the SS sliding latch handle/pin that secures the anchor locker at the bow. I am going to have a new one made. I would appreciate it greatly if a Hunter 31' owner could provide me with measurements from their boat. length of main pin A-D diameter of main pin, diameter of handle, throat of handle(B-D), Location of handle attachment (distance A-B and C-D) Length of handle (B-C). I have tried to attach a drawing but it dosen't work so here goes.. the best I can to by description ...sorry Lenght A-D is the over all lenght of the main pin, A at port end, D at Starboard end. The weld joints on the main pin where the handle legs attach were labled B and C. Lenght B-E is the distance from the main pin across the throat of handle to the parallel running the handle (fore to aft) Lenght A-B is the distance along the main pin from the port end to the perpendicular weld joint of the handle leg Length C-D is the distance along the main pin fron the perpendicular weld joint of the handle leg, to the Starboard end of the main pin. Lenght B-C is the width of the handle from port to starboard. Thanks

Call Hunter!

Bill: Call Hunter and see if they still have these. I was just looking at a brochure and it looks like they are using the same thing on the new boats. If they cannot help you, I can take a picture and measurements the weekend after next if no one else can help you out sooner. I would think that someone is going to charge way to much to make just one of these.

Done that Steve...

I Called Hunter about 6 weeks ago. They told me they don't have them, and the manufacture that made it for them has gone out of business. (no specs either) I described the parts to the folks at Tops in Quality (www.topsinquality.com, I think I got their name from you) and they quoted me a very reaonable price. I just need to get them the measurements. This isn't a rush thing. I plan to have it made over the winter to have it in place for the spring splash. If you could help out (at your leisure) it would be greatly appreciated. webling@pharsight.com
