Need H37c help please...

Hunter 37-cutter Merritt Island
Hi all, I am rebuilding an H37C and cannot find a stut. The P.O. replaced the strut with a flat topped strut and did a half fast job of fairing it in. Hunter has told me that it was a flat topped strut from Dahmer Marine. There is no flat surface on that part of the boat. I have only been able to find Chet's picture of his strut from when he caught a crab trap and I do not see a flat top on his strut. Would some of you guys, that have your boats hauled for the winter, be able to get a picture of your strut and email it to me, or post it here? I DON'T HAVE THE # ON HAND BUT IF YOU SEARCH THE ARCHIVES HERE SOMEWHERE YOU WILL FIND IT. YES IN FACT THE STRUT DOES HAVE A FLAT TOP THAT FITS INTO A RECESS IN THE KEELSON OF THE BOAT. ONCE YOU UNDO THE BOLTS THAT HOLD IT IN PLACE YOU CAN WACK AT IT WITH SOMETHING AND IT WILL MOST LIKELY POP OFF . THE FAIRING IS NOTHING MORE THAN SOMETING TO FILL IN THE IRREGULARITIES BETEEN THE STRUT AND HULL. IF YOUR STRUT IS NOT BAD THEN JUST SOME GRINDING WILL SMOOTH OUT YOUR PROBLEM I WILL LOOK AROUND IN MY STUFF AND SEE IF I CAN GET YOU THE # BUT I THINK ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS MEASURE IT'S LENGTH AND ASK THE MFG TO MATCH IT GOOD LUCK AND I WILL KEEP IN TOUCH CHET P

No need to have one special made, they'll have it in your hands tomorrow. This was from Dave Wilson's post in 08/2005.

I had the Strut off my H37C and it did have a "H34" cast in. The base where it matches up to the hull is flat. I think you may be confused as the ends of the mounting plate are tapered so that it is easier to fit into the recess. The entire area must then be faired.
