Can anyone help me in suggesting how I can tell how much fuel I have in the plastic cell. It's an '86 and I can no longer see thru it to see the fuel height. Has anyone else added a device. Would appreciate all comments. Thanks

Adding a fuel gauge

I added a Tempo mechanical gauge last year with the help of a few guys on this site. I used a sharp sturdy knife to cut an access hole in the top of the tank for a 5" pry out inspection port, mounted a 17 3/4" Tempo gauge to the pry out lid and was done. This was for a H34 so you might take a different size gauge but it's the same process. An auto parts store supplied me with the proper gasket material, some sort of blue solvent resistant stuff. I've also seen a suggestion that a stud finder run along the side of the tank will give you the level but I've never tried it.

Check out Acugage on this website.

Robert: Check out Acugage on this website. They attach to the exterior of the tank.

Acugage

Steve, I saw the site before. Thanks. Has anybody used it, how well does it perform (accuracy, durability, ease of reading) and do you feel it is worth the value. It appears to be an easy to install system. I appreciate the replies. Thanks

Fwiw, Hunter is now using AcuGage

and so are increasing number of production builders. Best system on the planet IMO.

Thanks Peggy

That's good information to know! Now to decide if I should only get the single tank or the 4-tank system (ha,ha)
