Need Catalina 22 trailer

I have an old Catalina 22 trailer with no trailer. I am in Ocean Springs, MS, on the Gulf Coast. Does anyone know of a trailer for sale?

Seriously, my father-in-law took good care of the boat and let the trailer rust away. When hurricanes come, I have to tie it off in the canal behind my house rather than put it on a trailer and get it out of the way. It's survived several hurricanes that way, including Katrina, but blocks the canal for other boats. I don't want to buy a $4,000 custom trailer to save a $2000 boat. I've seen the Catalina 22s, including trailer, for sale on the internet, but trashing a boat to save mine isn't realistic.

Another option find a powerboat trailer then modify it to your boat...

Check with the fleet at Fort Walton and the fleet over in Jacksonville someone may know of a trailer for sale.

I already have a trailer, but am always looking for a deal on a better one. So I scour Florida's Craigslist ads constantly, and I hit up south Georgia regularly as well.

I never see them for sale. Wanted, yes. For sale, no.

If you have one already, I bet t would be easier and more cost effective to improve and update yours.

Last weekend in the boat shop yard there was a trailer for a Santana 20 that they were working on. They bead blasted it, painted it, added fenders, new LED wiring and overhauled the breaks for around $1,200 it was beautiful.

I'm sure you could find a trailer pace or a body shop in your area to do the job...

Ideally though, I'd like to get my hands on an aluminum trailer, preferably dual axle. Mine's single axle galvanized.

A Catalina 22 is just another boat at the marina, a Catalina 22 with a trailer is much more valuable and much easier to sell when the time comes.

I just bought a 1985 Cal22 swing-keel trailer from a dealer in Florida in anticipation of buying a swing-keel boat. But ironically I ended up going with a fixed wing-keel instead. I would sell this trailer for my $645 cost, plus the approximately $400 in gas to drive my van down to Florida and bring it back. The trailer needs new bunk carpeting, but otherwise is in good condition.
