The lowermost batten on our main is gone. Does anyone know accurate size and dimensions for the battens? I can't find it in the store.

Thanks,
John

Measure the batten pocket in the sail and buy a batten large enough to fit.

Sails are made by a number of different sailmakers, so there is no book you can go to (or web site) that will tell you what size batten you have. It's like going out on line and asking someone what size shoe you wear. So, as suggested, measure it and buy it from your favorite sailboat store. Or, contact the sailmaker, who might have your answer if it was custom made. If it came with the boat out of the box, then measure twice and cut once.

My sails look to all be original and are made my Johnson. The sails are in another city with the boat so I was just looking for someone that might be familiar with these boats enough.
If I knew the stock width I could get a longer piece to trim to fit.

Johnson sails are JSI in St Petersburg, FL. When brought in my sails off my '85 H22, they got a kick out of them, that after 26 yes they were still sailable. My batten pockets were all torn on the ends. They were great to work with, they went over all three of my sails, and made recommendations. While my main is still sailable, it does need to be replaced. Maybe for Christmas :) They didn't pressure me into any thing. My jib and genoa are dirty and stained, but both have seen very light use.
