I have purchased a Mac 25 in ok shape. I have cleaned her up and looking to get her ready to sail. Couple of questions. It does not have a sink or stove and after doing some research it shows it should. Does anyone know how to design one or does anyone know where to get one? Next, my motor plate? (the place where the out board motor goes) does not seem to be right? I am not sure how the motor connects to the metal plates? Maybe something is missing, can someone give me a discription or a picture of what this should look like? Lastly, I think that there is water under the cabin floor and in the hull.. I have know idea how to solve this problem because I am very new to sailboats, any ideas??? Thanks, Jeff If you have pictures or designs for the gally please email me at vangoghz@aol.com with subject Mac25

Look to the bottom of this list....

Jeff, Scroll to the bottom of this forum list and locate "Galley plans for the Mac 25." What you need to know is there.

Forget the original

Jeff, The original design can best be described as a travel trunk size empty fiberglass container with a sliding door front. There is a molded sink to the upper right and a wood bracket of sorts on the upper left to hold the original pressure alcohol stove. My old pressure alcohol stove looks dangerous! On one end of that trunk sized "galley" are two small wheels that the whole contraption rolls on. On the end nearest to the person pulling it out from under the cockpit are two pins which plug the "galley" into those two holes you may be wondering about. The water supply to the sink is a fold-up plastic jug. The grey water reservoir....I don't know...mine was missing. But the design was poor enough that my "gally" sits on my garage floor because my wife insists that I not take it to the dump. "You may need it someday," she says. All the time I was thinking that I could use it as a one time only backdrop target holder for pistol practice. p.s. I'll snap some photos for you this weekend and e-mail them to you.

Photo of the original

If anyone is interested, here is a photo of the original "galley"....actually just a big worthless box that came with my 1981 Mac 25. I finally took it to the trash dump today. It was taking up space in my garage and was of no other use.

Opps, '83 not '81.

It came out of my '83. Why do I keep saying '81?

Too late. It's gone gone gone.

I finally got rid of the thing. It's sitting under tons of dirt at the Mustang Dump east of Reno. A few thousand years from now anthropologists will dig it up and scratch their heads wondering what it was used for. When they figure that out maybe they can tell MacGregor Boat company (in year 4002)the answer. I sure don't know!!
