howdy neighbors, i have noticed comments in the forum more than once about the "light-duty" electrical panels that come standard on the water ballast hunters. i am also starting to notice some of the plastic lock-nuts on my panel (a 23.5) are cracking so it's just a matter of time before one fails. i plan to replace the plastic nuts with metal ones, but for the long term, wondered if anyone can recommend a more durable but reasonably priced replacement panel that fits well into the space available. thanks, ed

Same Here...

I would actually like to find some sort of electrical panel that is more easily accessible. One with some sort of permanently mounted frame that has easier access (read no tools required).

not too hard to build one to suit you.

i too thought the panal on my 23 was a little cheezy. i built a new one from 1/4" a-c plywood to hold what i wanted. i reused the oem switches, and just enlarged the panal and added a few things. (still need to add another 12v outlet tho.) it wasn't too hard....5 min epoxy and screws. i really don't have plans for it and i am certainly no cabinet maker so if i can do it almost anyone can. (perfect joinery is easy for those with a belt sander.....glue it all up and make it square and pretty with the sander...just like chippendales ;-) there's plenty of room to work in there now. add some corner moulding, 2 coats of cetol 1 and 3 coats of cetol tgl high gloss over that and it should be pretty close to water proof. i'll be glad to e mail with more detailed "instructions" and or pics if anyone wants.
