Hello, I need someone to help me out. I have a 1983 Hunter 27 sloop. The mast support compression post has some rot in the base. I want to replace it with an aluminum post with a plate on the top and the bottom, marine grade aluminum. Can someone give me the exact measurement of the compression post on a post that has not sagged. From the deck of the boat to the topmost end to the nearest 1/8". I appreciate it.....If you have not taken the teal off the forward end of the compression post I suggest that you do it cause the post is made of untreated wood and subject to rot from water and damage from termites. Keeping the mast ever erect, I appreciate your help. Keith
