Need a Mast for a 26D

Looking for a mast for a 26D. Will a MacGregor 25' mast fit? My friend has one for sale.

How much is it to buy that new rotating one and sails directly from MacGregor?

There is a complete rig for an "X" in the gear classifieds. Sails and all, sounds like a great deal.
You will have to determine if it will work for your boat.

The guy you mentioned has sold his mast but that's ok as his price was $2000 for his "X" version mast rigging and sails, and according to MacGregor, I can buy the brand new "M" version mast and sails for $1,500 + shipping.

Otho from HavenCraft says that MacGregor masts are actually built close to me in Connecticut and then shipped to MacGregor in CA. He couldn't think of the name of the place that makes them but said I could buy one directly from them, pick it up myself and save $1000 in shipping. Does anyone know the name of this place in Connecticut that makes our MacGregor masts?

If you get the M version will it be able to turn or twist like on the new boats? Or will you have to use your back say? I bet if you can get away without the back stay and have it twist like the new ones do it would be the fastest 26D around!
Please keep me informed about how well it works. I have a heck of a WoW in my mast and am going to try and straiten it myself this spring. (I'll post a pic in my gallery tomorrow)
I have no idea how mine got there. The po says it was there when he got the boat and it dosen't affect performance....I will try it before I reef on it.

Yes, I asked MacGregor and they said the 26M's mast will swivel on a 26D the same way. I can't wait
