Hi all,
Just new to this forum (a 1986 C&C 27 owner) and have an urgent need to find an independent surveyor in Toronto, Ontario that is especially knowledgeable on 1990's vintage C&C sailboats (yes - we have seven-foot-itis!) . I am across the country and would appreciate receiving any independent surveyor's contact info that you have dealt with in/near Toronto that you would recommend - preferably one that have seen typical problem areas of 30-40 foot C&C vessels. The vessels I have recently viewed seem to be prone to obvious gelcoat cracking in a variety of locations (mostly corners and gentle bends) but they have also been seen in a few flat straight areas too (over 2 foot long!?). I need to find out if this is indicative of a more substantial problem with the 1990's vintage C&C vessels I am considering. I also need to have the deck checked for potential delamination and moisture content (something I read about in this forum) and am not sure if this is standard practise for a survey. I welcome any and all assistance on finding a good surveyor - or on your experience in investgating the cause or fixing such cracking! - thanks!
