Just find a company that has a good source of financing. Full service company that can provide the new owner repair and upgrade service and finance the boat. That is generally makes the difference in sealing the deal. You don't want the buyer to get a fired up but then spend the next week or so cooling off as he seeks financing. Ask the broker if he will finance your boat and at what rate. What % will they finance, etc. That is what sells boats!!!I am going to put my O'day on the market. does anybody know of a good broker in the area ?
Trailers are a great way to avoid haul out and storage costs. $7800 is not a bad price for new but I find trailers for less than $1000. Often just hundreds. They all take some modification to fit the boat. Always plan on a new set of bearings. (Not much $$)estopa,
I just priced a new trailer for O'day 31 - $7800. & change.
O'day 31 requires 3 axles - that's pretty hefty modification. I realize it can be done, or even build from scratch. The time involved, sourcing materials, etc. researching pad placement, weight distribution, bigger brakes, etc. ---Trailers are a great way to avoid haul out and storage costs. $7800 is not a bad price for new but I find trailers for less than $1000. Yes, I'm talking about a heavy trailer but must admit the market seems to be drying up. It may be due to the U-ship internet shipping market. There are a lot of guys with a stout pick-up and a heavy trailer that quote great prices to haul just about anything.O'day 31 requires 3 axles - that's pretty hefty modification. Depends on if this is an in & out trailer, or needs to be safe over the road. I live 4 1/2 hours from my marina. I have built trailers from cradles, from scratch, and bought new. A lot to be considered.
