Look around
Here in Vancouver BC, home to much marine activity, I find the price to jump around with a new Dodger and Bimini. Check out a number of sources before you settle on one business.Good luck in your new purchase. I am assuming your boat is used and you should be aware that means it will have "issues." Almost all used boats do, so don't be discouraged or disappointed with what you find. Minor leaks will probably be present; sometimes the detective work to trace it is harder than the repair; but, suspect all areas that will let water through, like stanchions, windows, chain plates, etc.About your gimballed stove, I just finished reading somewhere - and I don't recall where unfortunately - that the stove to be truly gimballed should be able to move 30 degrees either way, front and back. In many cases, the gimballed stove can't do this and thus is not truly gimballed. Another solution is to install a one burner gimballed stove - harder than it sounds in my dinette, galley opposite it, Catalina 27.When a boat is heeled over, many folks don't do that much cooking. A one burner will allow you to warm up drinks, soups, and stews for your lunch, and use the regular stove once at anchor.
