I figured out a neat painting trick for varnishing woodwork. I've been working on my rudder, and needed to be able to paint both sides without one side sticking to anything. I put it on some old candles - the wax won't stick to the slightly tacky varnish and if it does - warm it up with a hair dryer and it wipes off neatly.
