I trailer my 1989 catalina22 and I plan to go to the NC coast this weekend say around New Bern or Beufort. Does anyone know of a wild life launch near there that is good for my boat? Thank you all Alan

Several wildlife ramps in the area...

Morehead City: two just off hwy 70- 1 at the western edge of town, and 1 just before the bridge to Beaufort Beaufort: 1 just east of Beaufort before you get to Lennoxville Point New Bern: 1 across the river from New Bern, off Hwy 17 just north of Bridgeton For info on both wildlife ramps and marinas, as well as points on interest in coastal NC, go to http://www.ncwaterways.com/map/map.htm and order online the FREE Coastal Boating Guide. It has lots of useful info. Enjoy your trip! :) -Paul

Hey, Porsche

Where are you from, and where do you usually sail? I live near Wilson, NC, and sail the Pamlico and Albemarle Sounds, and I'm going to Kerr Lake for a week this summer. -Paul

Morehead City ramp

The public ramp in Morehead City at the Welcome Center is extremely popular among motor boaters. While it is an access to Bogue Sound, the ramp is entirely exposed to wind and the current can be very swift depending on the tide.
