Navy blue canvas hatch covers

I have done a search here on the topic and didn't find much. I am looking to buy some pre made navy blue hatch covers for two lewmar size 60 and one lewmar size 30 hatches. Can anyone recommend a vendor? I have seen the opaque covers but prefer the canvas so I can waterproof them.

Thanks in advance
Ron

Thanks, yeah I saw it after I sent the reply
Spoke to Dave, and the canvas shop is pretty much retired now and they don’t make any hatch covers.
Thanks again.
Well that’s a bit of a bummer. Give it a little time for others to respond, there are some sew-savvy folks in this forum. Unfortunately, I’m not one of them.

I had a local Canvas shop make mine on my 2007 H-36 and they are great and have bungy string around the edge help keep them from the wind blowing them off.
I guess get the measurements and contact a canvas shop on the internet and see about ordering them.

I like the idea of the bunny cord. I did want them to have something beside the string ties.
Thanks
Ron

Four navy blue hatch covers on my boat with bungie cords sewn in the edge to hold them on. Bungies aren't enough when a good thunderstorm blows through, I've lost a couple. The canvas maker I used recommended a line through the bungie and pinched into the closed hatch. I have a line with a little plastic snap hook that is easy to clip onto the vang or jib car cotter ring or whatever. Haven't lost one since.
And I don't know if it's B.S., but the canvas maker said the dark navy accelerates the breakdown of the plastic hatch lens in tropical and sub tropical climates due to the heat gain from the dark fabric. I didn't listen and I have religiously used my covers and the lenses have still "crazed" on my 2000 model.

BTW: What is the proper spelling of "bungie"?

According to Mr Google it looks like Bungee is the way they spell it. Go figure

I have bungee on the inside edge and never remove them know matter how windy and have had dark blue covers on both hatches and top windows since 2008 and they all look like new.
Had my covers on during Irma.

I suspect that hatch lenses, either polycarbonate or acrylic, is that they are not stress relieved after molding, working, i.e., cutting, or exposure to solvents; the internal stresses produce crazing when exposed to heat, UV, and other energy sources. I think if one stress-relieved these, which one can do in an electric oven, they wouldn't craze. I'm going to try that with a new masthead light lens. The original one is horribly crazed.

Good news, Dave here from SBO’s found a new vendor and I ordered them. I really like the bungee idea. I had some years ago and they only had tie strings and came off all the time. I also asked to have some flat shoelace type string sewn into each side so I can hang the string into the hatch before closing it to keep them on the boat.

They're standard Lewmar hatches. I'm blaming it on the same person that get's the blame for most of my other boat "issues": the P.O., the previous owner.

We are now offering Sunbrella hatch covers once again, elastic all the way around, and 2 grommets on the hinge edge, provided with a short length of small rope to cinch them tight.
