Hello, Has anyone used the Navman 4150 fishfinder / depfinder / speed log instrument? It seems like a great deal at $159. It includes shallow/deep alarms, Battery voltage display and low battery alarm, speed and temp functions, trip and total log functions, plus NMEA output. The package includes transom mount transducer. Thanks, Barry

I got one for my old boat but never used it as I sold the boat before I ever got it in the water. I used the 4100 on my brother-in-law's boat in NZ and it was excellent. Fishing will never be the same. You can buy a thru hull transponder instead of the transom mount. I didn't install the speed paddle wheel as it was a little larger than my old model and the thru hull didn't have a shut off to keep from flooding the boat when the transducer was out. Wierd and maybe changed by now. I guess you could shove a tapered plug in to stem the tide. I also got the bulkhead mounting kit which fit nicely into the circular hole for my old depth sounder and the cover which was a nice hard plastic affair. If I had kept it I would have made a cloth cover as well just to prevent UV damage to the plastic. I intend to put a 4150 on my new boat about 50 items down on the punch list.

A real bargain

I purchased the same model for my H240 a year ago, and it has worked out beautifully. The hook up is very simple, and the unit performs. Getting both depth and speed at the price made the call easy. Good luck.
