One of my winter projects on my 1980 H27 is to turn the area beneath my nav table into usable storage. I am thinking of a row of tubes for charts and a short shelf below that for chartbooks. Below that I will build one or two other shelves for dedicated storage for battery charger and portable power source, so they won't be just thrown into a lazerette (my current storage mode for them:naughty:). I am also thinking that this would be a good handy spot for binoculars, handheld vhf, gps, I was wondering what others have done with this space. I welcome any and all ideas. Thanks

Mine has a small dorm fridge in that space

Underneath there is still plenty of room for storage.

On my H33.5 I built a shelf under the nav desk and mounted an AC/Heater unit under there. Then I built a cabinet around it. Right now there is a cubby hole under the AC unit but I plan on making a door for it that matches the rest in my cabin. The pic was taken immediately after construction. I oiled the wood a couple of times over the next few weeks and it now matches the color of the rest of the cabin
