It is getting to be that time when we clean and "wax" our 2003 Hunter 356. The product of choice up to now has been Collinite Fleetwax but I recently read some ad stuff about Nautical Ease Polish which sounded very good - however it was on the makers website so I took it with several grains of salt. The product appears to be a silicone based polish, very much like the stuff I have been using on my cars for several years with very good results. However, my cars get polished twice a year and sleep in a garage at night and I am not sure how this translates to marine use. Does anyone have any experience with Nautical Ease Polish? BTW, I usually haul every other year so how long the finish will hold up is very important to me.

Concider NewGlass

http://www.newglass2.com I switched from wax to NewGlass about 6 years ago and absolutely love the stuff. The thing about wax is no matter what the brand it won't last. Also, wax is a petroleum product, it attracts oil. Ever sail thru an oil slick the first day out of the new season and get the brown scum that never comes off. NOTHING sticks to NewGlass and the beauty of it is no buffing, no compound, and no wax on/wax off. I can do 4 coats on a 30 foot Catalina in less than 4 hours and the boat looks as good at haul out as it did the day it launched in the spring. Think about it!

one step cleaner wax in Practical Sailor's last test was the Collinite Fleetwax 870. Collinite paste is still the best if you use a good polish first.
