I'm trying to find out some information on a sailboat owned by my grandfather, Richard Flaherty in the 1930s, in the San Francisco Bay Area. It was called Natoma and has the number 279 on the mainsail. It is a twin masted boat, about 30 feet OA. I'm afraid that is all the information I have the boat. I've done some searching on the 'net but did not find anything (of course the boat may not exist anymore either). Any suggestions as to how I could find if the boat is still in existence would be appreciated.

Lloyd's Registry

David, I have a volume of Lloyd's Registry of American Yachts, which lists every yacht (sailboat) registered or documented in USA and Canada before 1972. Unfortuately, at present it is in the posession of a buddy of mine, who I know would be happy to trace the boat for you if you contact him by email. Trace is by orig owner name or boat name or subsequent names. It lists owner(s), mfg, sailplan, aux (if any) homeport, and specs. I suspect the boat you are looking for is within the volume. Contact me off this forum at Cappie30@Litenet dot net, and I will hook you up with him, he will be happy to help you out. Jim
