Had to be home this weekend taking care of elderly mom.. But we did have a good one and opened the pool today. Water temp is 81F .. Took an additional month to get there because of the cool spring this year. Was a fine weekend for sailing here, but all I could do was listen to her calling from the slip and know that I'd be there later this week..

In Central Virginia we had unusually strong wind and gusts 30+ for most of Friday and Saturday. Sunday was beautiful, sunny and mid 70's with light breeze, but today went back to low 60's, cloudy, chilly, no wind, light rain.

A little something for everyone I guess.

Our weekend was nasty too.
Sunday morning at 3 AM we departed Charleston harbor dead flat calm, temp around 70.
A gentle roll out on the ocean with a 1 foot chop on top. Wind was light for almost the entire 27 hours to Beaufort. High was in the low 80's. Overnight Sunday night was also flat calm with the giant yellow moon lighting our way. We only had 2 pods of dolphin swim with us. Terrible trip

Sunny, but very breezy on the Chesapeake this weekend. We knew the winds would be in the 20's and used that as our excuse to head out. Wind keeps the mobos, and trollers in port, and we had the middle bay to ourselves. double-reefed the main, rolled out about half the genoa and ran off the northwest wind, riding 5' rollers down the bay. Saturday had the wind constant at 25kts, gusting to 32kts. Hit 9.1 kts boatspeed !

We found our favorite eastern shore anchorage and woke Sunday to cloudless beauty and perfect 15kt NW breezes - another perfect off-wind sailing day.

By Monday the winds were gone.

Sailed down to Pelican Bay on Cayo Costa island in SW Florida. Hit 7.9kts a new record. Weather was great high 80's and low 90's spent the day at the beach. Sorry it wasn't better for the rest of you guys. Came home Tuesday AM.
