The 310 comes with only a single wooden handhold mounted on the plywood partition on the port side near the companionway. I would like another handhold, stainless steel perhaps, on the starboard side. Anyone have experience on where and how to mount a side or overhead handhold? Is the door frame strong enough? (I presume the need to drill a 3/4" hole for access to secure the bolts for the handrail and use plugs or a cover for the holes placed in the head or interior liner).

Correction Nandhold

Sorry, wrote without contacts in. "Nanhold" should obviously be "Handhold".

310 companionway handhold

Bruce, I made one from one and a quarter inch teak and mounted it with long wood screws awarthship to the outboard side of the fibreglass companionway frame (wood core) Has worked well for three years. A little shaping needed to curvature of bulkhead. Doug
