View from Desolation Sound
This is a shot from somewhere around Desolation Sound, probably looking over the top of West Redonda Island where Refuge Cove is.

Some fine tuning of location ....
Still don't have any maps available but looking at your picture compared to mine I'd say it's closer, more looking north up Lewis Channel, say, and the rock could be one of these at the entrance to Teakerne Arm.
To get this shot you'd probably be in your dingy or a kayak though.

Haven't been up there for almost 20 years due to the bad experience I had in Laura Cove with a couple Seattle Yacht Club yachts. It was NOT desolate enough. This year, though, it was much, much nicer with probably fewer powerboats than back then.

Thanks for the link. There are a lot of waterfalls north of Desolation and it would be interesting to find out where some of the more interesting ones are located.
The color of the inlet sea water in the link picture is very turquoise in color so there must be a lot of snow or glacier melt somewhere.
We wanted to get a picture in front of Cassell Lake Falls but the spot was permanently taken. See photo (if it gets attached. If not there won't be a picture).
