My husband and I are puzzled by a phantom leak that appears on the cabin sole of our 37.5 intermittently. It is located in the middle of the sole just aft of the bulkhead between the forward cabin and the main cabin. It consists of about one half cup of water. It seems not to be related to how much rain we get. It sometimes appears when there has been no rain. We have checked overhead and there is no water at all . Where is this coming from? We are stumped. Any ideas? Alice C.

I found mine ...

Might it be coming through one of your overhead 12 volt light fixtures? I found a topside phillips head screw, in the panel around the solar panel, was leaking and the water traveled to the light fixture because it was the lowest point. I fixed it by using a larger diamiter screw with sealent. Try hosing the the deck from several directions and see if you find it that way.

Another Thought

On our boat we sometimes experience condensation on the aluminum frames of the hatches and companionway which then drips on to the sole or wherever. This ocurrs most frequently in the winter months when we have heat on inside the boat.Peter MilneS/V Blue Heron

Do you have airconditioning installed? If so it might be from the A/C tray.
